First Sis Scholarships for Eclc Students

On 30 June 2016 a first batch of Peking University School of International Studies Scholarships for ECLC students were granted to six students who stayed at Peking University during the 2016 summer semester. The scholarships, worth RMB 17,500 in total, were awareded to three Danish and three German undergraduate students, who participated in a Chinese language competition. Altogether eleven students competed for the SIS Scholarships.

Eclc Students Participate in Video Competition

Three students who are currently studying in the ECLC programme, and one former ECLC student who stayed at PKU in 2015, participate in an online video competition. The competition is held by 文化软实力 (Center for Soft Power Studies), an acadamic organization belonging to Peking University’s School of International Studies. The topic of this year’s competition is 《我的中国故事》(My Story about China).

798 Art Disctrict

I’ve already been at 798 Art District in March but it was quite cold back then and I didn’t have that much time as a presentation and some other uni stuff was impatiently waiting for me to be done. Today I finally managed to go there again. So I took my roommate Hanna and we headed off to 798. 798 is located in the north-east of Beijing (beyond the 4th ring) and the ride took us around an hour.

International Culture Festival

When I was trying to find the gym on the campus I failed completely. Who thought it could be any different? I was in desperate need of a person who could tell me how to find it and I acutally found someone. I came across a sporty looking person and decided to ask her if she’d know where the gym was. She smiled and said it would be quite complicated to explain and it’d be easier if she’d just guide me and my friend to the gym. THANK GOD for sending me her I thought.

Aimun (Asian International Model United Nations)

AIMUN (Asian International Model United Nation) ist he second important MUN in the world (right behind the MUN in New York City). It is a sort of fake United Nations Congress which is held for 4 days and lots of students from all over the world participate in it. AIMUN has lots of UN Committees such as General Assembly, Security Council, Ambassadorr Programme, IJC, UNICEF, UNEP, UN-Women, ESC, UNESCO, WHO and the Main Press Center. Each of those Committees has certain topics for example WHO had two topics which were anti-mircobiological resistance and mental health care after trauma. UNEP had nonmotorized Transportation and illegal widllife trade as their two topics.
