The winter term 2023/24 marks the first term after the beginning of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic in 2019/20 that a group of students from Aarhus and Würzburg is studying at the ECLC again. Students have arrived at the end of February and regular classes have started in March. All operations of the ECLC at PKU are back to normal.
The ECLC uses its own teaching materials, which are constantly updated and revised by its staff in cooperation with the European partner universites. Most recently the teaching materials for the classes Applied Commercial Chinese (实用商务汉语) and Applied Chinese Grammar (实用汉语语法 ) have been updated, typeset and received new covers. The teaching material for Applied Colloquial Chinese 实用汉语口语 has received a rather big update two years ago. Since then some smaller mistakes have been corrected. All teaching materials now are printed in the same format and have received new book covers.
Due to the worldwide outbreak of SARS-Cov-2 in early 2020 the European partner universities have not been able to send their students to Peking University since the summer/spring term 2020. Instead the ECLC office has arranged for online classes, which are taught by the staff in Beijing to students in Germany, Denmark and Norway. While online exercises and classes cannot fully make up for the study experience in China, students may thereby graduate in time and with a good command of Chinese.

Franziska Fröhlich from the University of Würzburg’s Department of Chinese Studies at the Institute of Cultural Studies is staying as Managing Director at the ECLC office during the summer semester 2015. Her office hours are from Tuesday to Thursday, 9.00-12.00.
Programme Director Monica Mu will be in office on Mondays and Tuesdays from 13.30 p.m. to 16.00 p.m.. Wuerzburg University’s Managing Director Florian Thuenken, who will stay for the whole summer term 2014, will be present in office on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 9.30 a.m. to 12 noon.
Dr. Astrid Lipinsky from University of Vienna’s Department of East Asian Studies will be staying as Managing Director during the winter term 2013/14. Her office hours are on Monday from 8.30 a.m. to 13.00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 9.00 a.m. to 13.00 p.m..
The site has been updated with the 2013 summer term’s office hours of the Programme Director and Managing Director. The Programme Director Mu Zhaohui will be in office on Tuesday and Thursday, from 13.30 p.m. to 16.00 p.m., and the Managing Director Florian Thünken will be in office on Monday and Wednesday, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 a.m..
